Welcome, DG Linda!
RI District Governor, 2018-2019
 
Linda Kotur Woodward was destined to travel in the early years of her life with a father working for the government.  She was born in Kansas but soon there after her family moved to Amarillo, TX where she learned to dislike the west Texas wind and cold.  Eventually Linda ended up in Del Rio where, for 10 years, she enjoyed camping, fishing and was the best tomboy in Texas.  In Del Rio, Linda learned to the value of giving back from her parents, form their work in the family church and the Masons and Shriners.  She then moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico where Linda graduated from Alamogordo High School and New México State University.  She worked at Water Resource Research Institute, receiving many honors in event planning for the university while there.  Linda also graduated from Dale Carnegie, Disney College, Leadership Las Cruces and Leadership New Mexico.  Linda has received the key to the City of Las Cruces, New Mexico for organizing the first Annual 4th of July Activities with the City and NMSU.  She served on the Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce for 5 years and was President of the Las Cruces Conquistadores, goodwill ambassadors for the City of Las Cruces.  Linda worked in print and radio media for 20 years.
 
Linda joined Rotary in 1999 as a member of the Rotary Club of Las Cruces and after retiring back to the valley she became a member of the Anthony Rotary Club of New Mexico/Texas.  Along the way she served Rotary on several committees and positions including membership, public relations, secretary, Board f Directors and President of the Rotary Club of Anthony (2011-2012).  She has served two years as Assistant Governor with the South Action Team and was selected as Lieutenant Governor for 48 hours prior to her selection as District Governor-nominee.  She has 3 Paul Harris Fellows.  Prior to her selection as District Governor she was a “Six Year” veteran of President-Elect Training (PETS), why because she knew that you learn something new every time you go to PETS, she is also a graduate of Rotary Leadership Institute, attended several outstanding Membership Cadre and Zone Leadership Training Institutes.  Linda received the Rotary District 5520 Service Above Self Award in 2015-2016.
She is married to John Woodward and they have two grown sons and 8 grand-children.
 
Linda is honored every day to be a Rotarian, where she feels we give from our hearts through Service for others.  We pay it forward with words, actions and the Rotary ways daily.  Look at our life’s, like a boomerang Rotarian’s receive so much back with one smile.
