Your resume will be used to identify potential faculty to teach the Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) course to be conducted by the District 5520 Rio Grande Academy (RGA). The RGA is part of the Rocky Mountain Division of RLI. RLI - Rocky Mountain Division is a Multi-District training program established to substantially improve the Rotary knowledge and leadership skills of the future leaders of Rotary clubs and districts. This training program consists of three full-day sessions, followed by half-day graduate seminars. The three training sessions are taught on Saturdays, with approximately 4-8 weeks between sessions.  In addition, every 4-8 weeks a new course will start in conjunction with the next session of the previous course.

Here’s how it works: course one will start with session one. Then, 4-8 weeks later course one will continue with session two and course two will start with session one. Four to six weeks after that, course one will finish with session three, course two will continue with session two and course three will begin with session one. From that point on there will always be three courses being taught, but each with a different session. Class size is 15 students to facilitate discussion, and there will be two instructors per class.

The RGA is planning to have regional training centers to minimize student travel. The number of courses per year will be determined by the course demand in the particular region. We are planning for a maximum of 8-9 courses per region/per year depending upon demand and availability of instructors. Instructor workload depends on the number of instructors in the region. If a region has 10 instructors, for example, each instructor could work about 4 to 6 days a year, given a maximum course load of 8-9 per year.

The initial cadre of faculty instructors will receive training on Saturday, June 11, 2011, in Albuquerque. More information will be available as we get closer to the date. However, the training will be sponsored, so participants need only cover their travel expenses to Albuquerque. Everything else will be provided.
